Environmental City of Soria presentation today at 19:30 in the Circulo de Bellas Artes of Madrid.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The project aims to become a ‘Big Bang’, an energetic and optimistic intervention that qualifies the system of artificial and natural spaces surrounding the Institutional Building at the Environmental City of Soria, imbuing the project with a powerful representative condition and an energetically efficient strategy.

The current building springs from the necessity of an institutional space able to catalyze initiatives concerning energy and sustainability in the territory of Castilla y León. The project will also be threaded in a larger regional plan in which punctual projects will emerge along the course of the gentle waters of the Duero River.

If energy is the key idea for the conceptual strategy of the project as concerning economy, environment and society, we could say that programmatic flexibility, efficient phasing and a symbolic reference to the dome as a unitary form are the touching stones for the formal structure of the proposal.
