This catalogue accompanies the exhibition Warhol and Dance, New York in the 50´s, on view at Ivorypress Art + Books Space II between October 28th and December 11th. The show features a collection of drawings that originally come from the Andy Warhol Founadation for the Visual Arts, Inc., and were previously shown by the Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in Salzburg and Paris. In these at the first sight not very typical drawings, Warhol portrays people from the world of dance in 1950s in New York. The text by Anna Kisselgoff, former Chief Dance Critic of The New York Times, provides an insight into this world and brings the reader closer to the characters and personalities that Warhol drew.
